In this article I will focus on anglers who do not have a boat as I’ve been in exactly the predicament of not having a boat to help me get to the “right” locations. Many areas around the United States have accessible Sac-a-lait angling water for we without a boat. On most rivers, lakes and reservoirs there are wharves that provide fantabulous Sac-a-lait fishing opportunities. I do this to attract bugs and small underwater creatures called zooplankton to the light. In turn, these insects attracts bait fish to feed on the bugs and small zooplankton. The shad attracts larger fish (such as Sac-a-lait) to feed on the baitfish. Sac-a-lait should begin moving into the well lighted area not long after dark. Then you just need introduce the live shiner attached beneath a bobber and look forward to the Sac-a-lait to engulf the offering.I have been asked often about rigging a live shiner? I use a #8 or #10 wire hook to fish for Sac-a-lait. I use a wire hook because Sac-a-lait love brushy cover, and the wire hook will straighten easy to un-snag and can be formed right back into its hook shape easy. Hook the shiner through the lips, suspend it below a bobber, and sit back enjoying the night.I have found that hooking a shiner by passing the hook through both lips keeps the minnow lively for a long time, and presents it in a completely normal manner. When Sac-a-lait angling, it is important that the minnow is aliveand swimming around under your bobber. Figuring out what depth to fish is important when Sac-a-lait fishing. I like to use my “jig pole” to determin the proper depth the Sac-a-lait are holding. I will rig up a black with some chartreuse marking jig, and jig to locate where the Sac-a-lait are suspended so everyone can adjust their bobber properly.These simple tips should help you catch plenty Sac-a-lait, and I always want to catch more Sac-a-lait because these black and white speckled delights are astoundingly delicious eating. Sometimes we fish for the fight but not with Sac-a-lait? With Sac-a-lait we fish so that they can grace our table. Sac-a-lait are easily the tastiest fish that lives in freshwater.
